    Description

    Work schedule is Monday – Friday 9am-5.30pm (Negotiable). Registered with the BBS as at least ACSW, APCC or AMFT. Bilingual candidates preferred.

    Pay range is $105K to $120K / year for licensed candidates and $85K to $120K / year for unlicensed candidates depending on relevant years of experience.

    We offer a competitive package of employee benefits for 30 to 40-hour week positions. You will receive a defined contribution amount of up to $14,580 per year (prorated for part-time employees working less than 40 hours per week) to purchase the benefits of your choice on a cafeteria plan basis. Any amount of this defined contribution not used towards your benefits will be paid to you as taxable earnings. We offer a retirement plan with a generous employer match starting at 4% after one year of employment. Our paid time off is also more generous than many employers with vacation time accruing up to 25 days per year, 6 days of sick time per year, and 12 paid holidays.

  • PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Participate and coordinate management with Program Manager in the execution of compliance with policies and practices that ensure the delivery of high quality, cost-effective care in all service settings consistent with Agency mission and in accordance with Agency, payor, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and monitor quality improvement activities, including analysis of outcome and other management reports; review, evaluate, and co-sign service documentation, where applicable.
  • Partner with Manager in the coordination of client care with Agency staff, other providers, and family members, as appropriate.
  • Verify that services are integrated to meet client needs.
  • Participate and contribute to program development to ensure responsive care.
  • Monitor and support staff compliance with documentation standards; reinforce processes for maintaining orderly and complete clinical records and other required documentation.
  • Conduct leadership responsibilities by leading from the front and supporting agency strategic initiatives through role modeling.
  • Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the program and its service delivery issues.
  • Provide direct supervision of staff, as assigned; assist with hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide professional mentoring to staff, including orientation and training.
  • Coordinate the deployment of staff consistent with program needs.
  • Provide direct services and back-up coverage to staff in providing crisis responses and intervention, including on-call and after-hours assistance; provide crisis consultation to families and public and law enforcement agencies.
  • Review, evaluate and co-sign service documentation, where applicable.
  • Assist with special projects, including the development of new service content, technology, or special events.
  • Promote vigilance of cleanliness and safety of premises; direct staff and / or Facilities to address issues of concern, especially safety and security; contact Facilities maintenance when needed.
  • OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintain effective relations with hospitals, outside case managers, and other community resources.
  • Provide transportation in personal or Agency vehicle, including but not limited to the transport of clients and / or program supplies for Agency business.
  • Participate in community, Agency, and team meetings and trainings, as requested.
  • Participate in management of team / program discretionary resources available to meet client needs.
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED : (E = Essential; D = Desired)

  • Associate’s degree plus three years’ experience working within a human service setting; OR Bachelor’s degree and two years’ experience working within a human service setting; OR Master’s degree plus one year experience working in a human service setting. (E) (Appropriate related volunteer and internship experience will be considered.)
  • One year full-time experience in a supervisory or management role; (E)
  • Degree in a related field and experience in a mental health setting; (D)
  • In some cases, a Bachelor’s degree, MHRS qualifications, and / or a greater number of years of experience will be required and noted on all postings. (E)
  • 2. License eligible or current licensure from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) as a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or current licensure from the California Board of Psychology (BOP) as a Licensed Psychologist (PSY). (E)

    3. Certification as Certified Addictions Drug Counselor (CADC II) may be required in some assignments. (D)

    4. Demonstrated ability to :

  • Work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment; (E)
  • Engage and communicate effectively with others in both verbal and written English; carry out written and verbal instructions in English; (E)
  • Train, direct, coach and supervise staff and supervise program units; monitor and assess clinic services; (E)
  • Evaluate, monitor and direct compliance with applicable regulations; (E)
  • Manage multiple tasks and demands; effectively manage time and meet required timelines; (E)
  • Employ tact and diplomacy, exercise good judgment, and act calmly in emergency situations; make appropriate interventions; (E)
  • Work from a strengths-based, harm-reduction, social rehabilitation model; (E)
  • Work effectively with persons of different value systems, ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, language capabilities, and disabilities; (E)
  • Work collaboratively with individuals identified as those with serious mental illness who meet the following criteria : histories of hospitalization, institutionalization, including with the criminal justice system, substance abuse, low engagement in medication treatment, and difficulty in participating in structured activities and living independently; (E)
  • Work with populations identified as high risk and / or considered underrepresented in the County Mental Health system with multiple barriers; (E)
  • 5. Demonstrated ability to work with participants who :

  • May also have histories of assaultive behavior; (D)
  • May have resided in long term care facilities for extended periods; (D)
  • May have patterns of service that relied almost exclusively on emergency and institutional care; (D)
  • May have cognitive difficulties and medical co-morbidities, are considered medically fragile, and may also be developmentally disabled; (D)
  • May have long-term patterns of homelessness and criminal justice involvement. (D)
  • 6. Knowledge of :

  • Evidenced based clinical techniques for assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of people with mental illness; problem resolution and conflict resolution techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing; (D)
  • Applicable regulations, contract requirements, and methods of compliance; (D)
  • Community resources, including those required to meet the non-mental health needs of the target population; (D)
  • Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). (D)
  • 7. Special Requirements : Must be able to meet and receive a criminal records clearance, as required by Title XXII, other licensing regulations, and Momentum practices. (E)

    8. First Aid Certification or successful completion of First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire, if assigned to residential facilities. (E)

    9. Effective utilization of computer technology for communication, information tracking, and accessing of online resources; proven proficiency in typing / keyboarding—minimum 40 net wpm—and a basic proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows-based databases; (E) familiarity with UNIX-based databases.     10. A valid California Driver License, with access to a reliable vehicle or for driving a company vehicle, current proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record. (E)

    11. Physical requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job, with or without accommodation :

  • Hearing and talking on telephone and in person; standing, walking, sitting, pinching and finger flexion are required constantly (over 2 / 3 of the workday); (E)
