Description
A Youth Program Coach assists in teaching Momentum Climbing Youth Program curriculum under the Head Coach.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coaching on the days agreed upon, when hired. Multiple days of week preferred.
- Participating and engaging with participants while teaching the lesson for the day
- Gaining awareness of each of the participants skill levels and needs
- Parent interaction before and after practice
- Enforce Momentum policies in a friendly, patient, and respectful manner
- Develop a basic understanding of gym programs and products
- Ability to command respect, enforce safe climbing practices, recognize unsafe conditions, and discuss any concerns with fellow coaches and participants in a professional manner
Compensation

- Flat rate per practice discussed upon hire
Requirements
- At least 2 years of a consistent climbing background with an extensive knowledge of climbing technique and terminology (bouldering, top rope, lead climbing/belay, minimum 5.10 inside and out)
- Ability to work with a large group of kids
- Experience in coaching, programming, and facilitating is a plus, but not required
- Ability to put immediate needs of participants first at all times
- Valid certification in First Aid/CPR or WFR/WFA is preferred but not required
