What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Closer/Funder position at Momentum Loans?

The role of the Closer/Funder is to ensure the timely closing and funding of mortgage transactions. The candidate must have a warm, friendly personality that is focused on customer service. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to manage their time well, and interact in a friendly and professional manner with employees, clients and vendors.
- Prepare closing documents accurately and efficiently and issue to title companies
- Verify accuracy and consistency of specifications on documents and compliance reports, and work with loan officers and processors to remedy discrepancies before closing docs are released
- Manage a time-line on all assigned files, following up with appropriate parties as necessary
- Audit final executed docs for accuracy and completion of signatures and dates by all parties to the transaction
- Work with title companies and internal staff to clear outstanding conditions and balance wire amount – issue funding authorization as appropriate
- Prepare and issue post-consummation CDs as necessary
- Coordinate wire transfer from warehouse line to title company, ship collateral, and prepare files for post-close department
- Assist other departments as necessary
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma
- This is NOT a remote opportunity. Individuals hired must work out of our Sandy, Utah location
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in mortgage closing and funding Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA and UTHC loans
- Knowledge of current RESPA, TILA and TRID guidelines
- Strong knowledge of Encompass LOS
- Strong understanding of closing policies and practices,
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Detail oriented, dependable, efficient and able to handle competing priorities effectively within established timeframes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with employees, clients and vendors – must be able to work as part of a team
- Punctual, motivated, positive and hard working with an ability to embrace change
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge and experience with secondary market mortgage products and pricing, processing, underwriting and post-close requirements
