Job Summary
The Food Preparation Worker plays a vital role in our kitchen, assisting in the preparation of meals and ensuring that food safety standards are met. This position is essential for maintaining a smooth operation within the dietary department, contributing to the overall food packing needed for the extended River trips and ideal experience for the guests. The ideal candidate will need to have critical thinking skills, efficiency, attention to detail and a commitment to food safety.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, mixers, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Adhere to food handling and safety regulations to prevent contamination and ensure high standards of hygiene.
- Collaborate with the Food Manager and other kitchen staff to prepare meals for the trip dependent timeline.
- Support the dietary aide team by assisting with special dietary needs as required.
