Job Summary:
The Operations Specialist Afterhours Lead position is responsible for daily supervision of the after-hours and weekend team and working with other departments to ensure that all customer requirements are met. This position works Monday - Friday from 3 pm to 12 am.

The Operations Specialist Afterhours Lead position is responsible for daily supervision of the after-hours and weekend team and working with other departments to ensure that all customer requirements are met. This position works Monday - Friday from 3 pm to 12 am.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides hands-on guidance in the day-to-day management of the after-hours and weekend operations team.
- Complete accurate and timely scheduling and dispatching of trucks to ensure that the flow of product in and out meets customer demands.
- Negotiate with transportation providers to obtain the best rates and service.
- Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery so that accurate, up-to-date information can be provided regarding any shipment (track & trace)
- Provides constant communications of service issues to appropriate personnel and departments, both internal and external
- Update and maintain transportation management and operations system.
- Prioritize tasks and workload to focus on issues that directly impact quality and service performance.
- Adheres to company standards on customer satisfaction, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solutions.
- Provide complex problem resolutions.
- Utilize specialized industry and company computer systems and procedures, reference materials/documentation and personal industry knowledge to process client shipments.
- Maintains regular, timely, and consistent attendance at work.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Consistently demonstrate professional behavior.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- AS400 experience
- Proficient with computer and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent data entry/keyboard skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with carriers and drivers.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to seek alternative solutions.
- Self-directed, displays initiative and can work independently.
- Organizational and time management skills
- Understands the basic concept of supply chain.
- Team player with proven ability to work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up
- Excellent communications skills, both written and oral

- Must be fluent in English.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required. College degree highly preferred.
- Supply chain; logistics; or transportation industry experience is preferred.
