Data Management Intern
As a Data Management Intern at MOMENTUM, you will play a crucial role in supporting our data operations. You will work closely with experienced data professionals to help ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across various projects. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in data handling, data governance, and analytics in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

In this role, you will:

• Data Organization & Cleaning: Assist in the preparation, cleaning, and organization of datasets for analysis. This includes identifying and resolving data quality issues, ensuring data integrity, and maintaining data standards.
• Data Entry & Migration: Support data migration and entry into internal systems, ensuring smooth integration of datasets into MOMENTUM’s data infrastructure.
• Database Management: Assist in monitoring and updating internal databases, ensuring data is stored in an efficient, structured manner for easy retrieval and use.
• Reporting & Documentation: Help prepare regular reports and documentation related to data management practices and provide insights on data trends, anomalies, and improvements.
• Data Validation & Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the data management team to conduct quality assurance checks and validate the accuracy of the data used in analysis and reporting.
• Collaborative Projects: Work with cross-functional teams, including analytics, IT, and business units, to support the broader data strategy and contribute to ongoing data-driven initiatives.
• Research & Process Improvement: Contribute to research on emerging data management tools, techniques, and best practices, and assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance data efficiency.

​​​​​​​If you're suitable for this role, you have:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong interest in data management, data analytics, and working with large datasets.
• Familiarity with basic data management concepts, including data cleaning, transformation, and data quality assurance.
• Basic knowledge of data tools and technologies (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, or R).
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze and interpret data accurately.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Live in a HUBZone

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure).
• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Prior internship or academic projects involving data management or analytics.
