Temporary Childcare Teacher (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and adaptable Temporary Childcare Teacher to cover for a team member on maternity leave for approximately 6-8 months. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years old and will be responsible for supporting and guiding children's development in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity for long-term employment, as there is potential for the role to transition into a permanent position at the end of the contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, social interaction, creativity, and physical development.
- Foster a safe, engaging, and positive environment that encourages children’s growth, independence, and confidence.
- Observe, document, and track children's progress and development.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a harmonious and supportive classroom environment.
- Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and well-being.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the classroom, including adhering to health and safety standards.
- Support the development of positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Adapt to the needs of the classroom and individual children, including working with diverse learning styles and abilities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 1 year experience working with children in an early childhood setting, ideally with children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years old.
- Strong knowledge of child development and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and effectively manage classroom dynamics.
