Production Manager

Essential Functions:

PRODUCTION

• Management of the production team

• Provide training for all production staff

• Create process instructions

• Allergen Testing- maintaining records.

• Maintain Allergen Control Plan

• Equipment: Preventive maintenance

• Serve as a food safety ambassador in promoting exceptional food safety culture and ensuring food safety programs are followed by all staff.

• Ensure completion of all logs and execution of food safety protocols in place

• Planning, scheduling and execution of production requirements according to company policies and government regulations including quality control oversight of handling and food safety of raw materials, production process and procedures, finished goods, sanitation, facility cleanliness and organization.

• Hiring, training and development of employees in food safety, sanitation, and good manufacturing practices requirement

• Assist in preparation and participate in the annual audit with the management team

• Inventory Control/Monitoring/Tracking

• Ordering ingredients and packaging needed for production

• Inspect raw and finished products for quality standards and compliance

• Monitor and assist in production to ensure sanitation requirements and ATP monitoring activities are met during production.

• Make recommendations to the management team to assist in the corrective and preventive action process to develop effective solutions to problems to be executed.

• Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

• Manage the workforce by communicating job expectations, job assignments, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

• Monitor employee accountability in all job functions.

• Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring employees and resources.

• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Responsible to drive improvements in Food Safety, Human Safety, First-time quality, Line/labor efficiency, attainment and ingredient/product yields

• Responsible for creating a strong employee friendly environment

• Train/teach/coach employees to develop an effective production team

• Responsible to ensure equipment PM schedule is adhered to

• Report to management any equipment problems or noncompliance of GMPs/HACCP

JOB CONDITIONS

• Working Conditions: Food manufacturing environment. Safety sensitive position due to regular interaction with heavy machinery.

• Must be able to: perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing and pulling. Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.

• In and out of freezer (-10F) throughout day

• Follow Food Safety GMP guidelines set forth by the facility.

Pay: Up to $80,000.00 per year
