Job Summary
The Clinical Quality Data Analyst is responsible for ensuring that healthcare providers and organizations deliver the highest quality care possible. As the clinical expert on the quality/data team, this analyst will work collaboratively to evaluate clinical performance, assist in research and interpretation of the data, and identify and communicate areas of improvement to the leadership team.
Responsibilities
Critical and Analytical Thinking
Effectively uses analytical and critical thinking skills to examine claims data and medical records to ensure that documentation is accurate and complete and identifies and communicates any workflow opportunities to leadership team. Conducts studies to identify patterns of disease prevalence among different populations. Monitors and analyzes quality and safety data trends to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and/or programs. Evaluates the effectiveness of processes and procedures to identify cost-saving measures. Identifies possible correlations between process metric/results and outcomes.
Team Collaboration and Communication
Develops close working relationship with analytics and IT teams to act as clinical liaison between Health Services and Analytics and address data-related questions. Works closely with payer resources to seek ways to reduce costs and improve quality. Presents findings, issues, and action plans to senior leadership. Supports data entry system design, to ensure smoother, more consistent, more reliable back-end reports and analysis.
Project Execution
Undertakes quality improvement initiatives by planning, executing, and evaluating outcomes. Participates or leads quality improvement projects such as developing new methods for measuring quality or identifying opportunities for improvement. Reports findings and clearly presents the issues and opportunities for improvement. Provides data knowledge support to design of new quality metrics, and revision of current metrics. Manages, creates, and ensures timely distribution of project reports on scheduled cadence.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Light Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs. Primarily remote position with home office capability; some onsite/travel related to training, meetings, etc. is expected.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Healthcare Quality and Analytics, Healthcare Informatics or other related field.
