Job Summary
The HR Business Partner – will develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives designed to enhance organization effectiveness of their facility, as well as the Health Care system. The HR Business partner is the primary employee relations resource for department leaders and is expected to interact with HR employees, resolve employee relations issues, and manage HR risk and compliance at the local entity-level.
In collaboration with the System Director of HR Services & Integration, the HR Business Partner will be responsible for the rollout of changes that impact front line employees. Obtains and provides resources to implement change initiatives. Serves as a role model within the client organization by demonstrating commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in organizational performance.
The person in this role will be expected to respond to urgent employee relations matters which may include off-hours (nights and/or weekends, if needed.)Responsibilities
General HR Duties
Advise and assist management with investigations/grievance resolution, policy/procedures interpretation, behavior complaints, workplace violence concerns, harassment/discrimination concerns, progressive discipline and terminations, work environment concerns, and performance management concerns. Provide detailed analysis of issues and guidance based on interpretation of established internal policies and applicable State and Federal laws. Recommends a course of action necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship that is consistent with the system’s practice, policies and procedures. Serve as a neutral party between manager and employee to assist with the resolution of issues. Partners with System Director of HR Services & Integration in the coordination of complex investigations, appropriate response to agency charges and any resulting litigation, and coordination of the grievance review process.
Advise and assist managers and administrative representatives in the application and interpretation of human resources policies, compensation and benefit programs, payroll policy and procedures, and discipline resolution. Ensure a comprehensive knowledge and ability to communicate benefit plans. Provide day-to-day administration organization’s benefit plans. In accordance with plan documents, determine eligibility, conduct enrollment, initiate claims, and provide necessary counsel and follow-up for all employees. Advise on payroll and benefit changes for employees. Work with managers to resolve exceptions. Requires comprehensive knowledge of compensation and benefit programs in addition to the payroll system. Assist in the implementation and communication of compensation policies and payroll policy and procedure, providing counsel to managers and employees and working with the compensation department to ensure compliance. Coaches leaders to proactively complete succession planning in their areas.
Works closely with HR leaders to enhance and facilitate key recruitment plans and maintains effective communication concerning all HR functional team efforts and client groups to support these efforts. Works closely with Learning and Organizational Development to assist in succession planning, management of training content development, and training facilitation, as appropriate

Clearly communicates the direction, required performance, and challenges of change to all involved parties. Identifies and enlists the support of key individuals and groups to move the change forward.
Facility Specific Duties
Depending on which facility the HRBP, may be required to be a member of the facility senior leadership team, including attending meetings, representing senior leadership/HR at various functions, and participating in the senior leader “hospital call” rotation.
Travel
The HRBP will be expected to travel to and support various facilities a minimum 20%, and/or as needed.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Light Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs. Some travel may be required, if needed, to other facilities within the Vandalia Health organization.
Additional Required Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated flexibility, able to change direction quickly and reprioritize based on urgent needs.
- Prior experience in managing projects from start to finish, and through ambiguity and constant change.

- Outstanding communication skills in both written and verbal form to include prior experience giving presentations.

Education
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related degree required; or a combination of directly related experience & education will be considered in lieu of a degree.
