Job Summary
The lead radiology representative will ensure that quality care is given to patients and external customers by assisting in front end Imaging Services functions including, but not limited to: procedure scheduling for all Interventional Radiology procedures, accurate data collection, PACS monitoring for order correctness and report transmissions, development improvement and implementations to improve efficiency and effectiveness for Imaging Services and is the subject matter expert for all radiology representative employees. All ensures that staffing requirements are met.

Job-Specific
-RIS and PAC’s: Knowledge of reviewing / activating / manually putting orders in, knowledge of procedures and preps, retrieving patient information from Cerner, review each schedule book, print schedules for radiologist / department, knowledge of queue, knowledge of "pink paper" for multiple exams. Print and fix any mistakes on the transcription work list / email I.T with patient and exam for them to fix. Importing outside images, uploading to the proper patient, tracking outside images, sending images on PACS / images grid and faxing the correlating reports, if requested , obtaining proper consent for release of information. Prepare CDs and reports for pickup or delivery, importing outside CDs to merge into our patient charts. Obtain outside images for the mammogram department for their diagnostic patients.
-Department Coordination, supplies and equipment: Ensure and schedule there is appropriate coverage for all radiology representative shifts including rotating coverage of afternoon shift. Provides training for new staff member or provides replacement in their absence. Prepares items needed for the three hospital tumor boards. Orders radiology department office supplies. Orders radiology forms from print shop. Checks radiology slot in mail room. Provides departments with monthly radiologist schedule.
-Interventional Radiology Scheduling: Follows and completes the workflow to ensure interventional radiology procedures are scheduled correctly. Ensuring radiologist has signed off on case, necessary orders have been placed, scheduling the patient and their pre/post care unit, consult anesthesia, if necessary, ensure that all necessary equipment is available for cases. Provide interventional daily schedule to departments and radiologists. Help coordinate inpatient procedures to optimize flow with outpatient procedures. Assist the breast nurse navigator with scheduling breast biopsy procedures as needed.
