What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Technician - Sterile Processing position at Mon Health?
Job Summary
Answer phone calls in accordance with MHMC policy to fulfil requests of surgical services and the Medical Center. Help maintain sterile inventory both reusable and non-reusable. Will assist with the deliveries to in-house departments Sterile Processing services. Pick the case carts for the following day’s scheduled cases.
Responsibilities
1.) Take phone calls from the different departments within surgical services and the medical center. In an accurate and timely manner, fulfill those requests.
2.) Assist technicians in stocking the sterile supply areas. Helps ensure PAR levels are maintained and information is gathered to adjust PARs as needed. Ensure a first in, first out approach is taken when stocking storage areas.
3.) Assist with the deliveries to the in-house departments Sterile Processes services. Ensure accuracy of orders and that deliveries are made in a timely manner.
4.) Pick the case carts for the next day’s scheduled cases. Ensures proper documentation is maintained for instrumentation used for each case. Ensures proper list of missing and needed instrumentation is maintained and conveyed with technicians.
5.) Will assist Sterile Processing Technicians with instrument management i.e peel packing instruments, ensuring instrument trays are in the proper storage locations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Light Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
