Job Summary
The Performance Improvement Specialist is responsible to effectively deploy and facilitate various performance improvement methodologies across the assigned service lines in order to effect improved outcomes in support of the organization’s mission. The improvement specialist will build relationships with service line leaders. Through these relationships the improvement specialists will assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and guide the process with facilitation skills.
The Performance Improvement Specialists will assist in developing the performance improvement infrastructure within the organization. Developing the infrastructure may include basic to intermediate education on lean six sigma theory, tools, and techniques; facilitating identification of assigned departmental core measures and process mapping; facilitating learning and innovation across service lines in the system.
The Performance Improvement Specialists will work collaboratively with other members of the Performance Improvement Department to pursue the organizational goals. PI Specialists will utilize the PDCA and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to achieve the departmental goals.
Performance Improvement Specialists will participate in core process auditing in conjunction with the Quality Department in order drive compliance with DNV standards.
Responsibilities
Performance Improvement Methodology
Candidate will possess a firm understanding of Lean Six Sigma methods, tools, and techniques, as well as the application of this knowledge in order to effect improvement.
Team Facilitation
Candidate will demonstrate the necessary skills to facilitate teams (in person or virtually) to achieve desired outcomes.
Data analysis
Candidate will have a solid understanding of data analysis tools available in lean six sigma, how to apply the available tools to achieve results, and the appropriate critical thinking to verify the valid application in various settings.
Strong interpersonal skills
Candidate will possess the interpersonal skills to develop the professionally appropriate relationships across all disciplines necessary to achieve the desired outcomes. The candidate will leverage these interpersonal skills to instill confidence in the PI department and process outcomes.
Professional curiosity and tenacity
Candidate will demonstrate the desire to understand the totality of the current state through inquiry, investigation, and observation along with the perseverance to see a project through to completion.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Light Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 25 lbs.
PI project design and facilitation utilizing recognized PI tools and techniques (LSS, TQM), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), group facilitation both in person and virtual, teamwork skill as a leader and team member.
Education
• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Relevant healthcare related Bachelor’s degree
Credentials
• Six Sigma Green Belt Cert (Required)
