POSITION SUMMARY
The Registration Representative provides a "Patients First" experience and supports a positive workplace by maintaining an upbeat and professional work environment while completing all assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Coordinates services for patient registration including: greeting patients, collecting demographic data and insurance information, collecting co-pays and communicating with other departments. Acts as liaison between departments to foster open communication and team work, utilizing positive and effective communication with all team members. All employees are expected to support Preston Memorial Hospital's mission, vision and values; comply with policies and procedures; and conduct themselves in an ethical, professional, respectful, and collaborative manner at all times. Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality in all situations. Position requires occasional on call, evening and/or weekend hours.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
o High school diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
o Computer experience and a minimum typing speed of 25 wpm
o One (1) year of customer service and/or clerical experience
o Patient registration and/or health care experience preferred
