What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fire Sprinkler Helpers (Apprentices) position at Mon-Oc Fire Protection, Inc?
Seeking full-time Fire Sprinkler Helpers (Apprentices) to work on the installation of fire sprinkler systems for our projects throughout NJ. Our existing backlog of work extends well into 2025. Current projects are located in Ocean, Monmouth, Middlesex, Cumberland, Union, Bergen and Somerset Counties - we have work throughout the state.
Position requires travel to and from our jobsites. Typical work day is 7:00AM to 3:30PM on jobsites throughout NJ. Travel allowance/ pay is determined on job-by-job basis based on locations.
Helpers/ Apprentices will be working with our Sprinkler Fitters on new projects installing sprinkler system piping, valves, backflow preventers, fire pumps, etc. All tools are provided by company other than hand tools.
Some on site pipe fabrication is normally required – therefore the ability to work pipe threading/ grooving machines is expected.
Experience reading blueprints, schematics, and building plans is a plus.
Some type of work experience in the mechanical construction trades - fire protection, plumbing, HVAC - is essential.
Previous experience, training and knowledge will determine pay scale as part of the in-person interview.
