As a DSP, you will work closely with clients to promote independence and ensure their well-being in a respectful and supportive environment.
Duties
- Provide transportation from individual's home in Dublin to place of employment in Peterborough
- Monday - Thursday: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
- Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.
- Monitor client health and behavior, providing timely feedback to healthcare professionals when necessary.
- Support clients in social activities and community engagement to foster inclusion and personal growth.
- Educate clients about their rights as residents and empower them to advocate for themselves.
- Provide first aid as needed and maintain a safe environment for all clients.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
- Personal care to include some or all: toileting, dressing transfers, medication monitoring/administration if needed (training provided)
- Previous experience in patient care or home care is preferred
- Understanding of resident rights and advocacy principles
- Ability to perform patient monitoring effectively
- LNA or relevant experience a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Certification in First Aid/CPR is desirable
- A genuine passion for helping others and promoting independence
