Job Title: Brewpub General Manager
Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week), weekends required, open date TBD
We’re looking for an energetic and experienced Bar or Restaurant Manager to join our team on the ground floor. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is detail-oriented and can handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. You should be driven to get things done and thrive on tackling challenges head-on. Strong observation skills, confidence in decision-making, and excellent communication abilities are essential, along with leadership qualities that inspire and motivate the team. We’re seeking someone who knows when and how to delegate effectively, while also being hands-on with a knack for fixing things and a solid mechanical aptitude. Job Description: Supervises all areas of the Blind Pig Brewpub under the direction of Owner. Works closely with marketing, events, and production staff. The Brewpub Manager actively supervises staff working in the brewpub, manages and coordinates inventory with brewery production, manages and executes a variety of events throughout the year, and assists in the strategic planning and budgeting for the retail side of our operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
General Operations
● Create and communicate all staff schedules (bar and kitchen)
● Manage deliveries and coordinate with Kitchen Manager
● Ensure all shifts are covered. May need to work long hours in order to compensate for team member issues that may arise
● Update product information in our POS, Excel, and Google. Become an expert of our POS system (Toast)
● Delegate tasks effectively
● Undergo and Pass background check
● Obtain and maintain BASSET, Illinois Food Manager Certification, and other state and locally required certifications
Taproom Management Work & Customer Service
● Ensure each bartender is providing exceptional customer service to all Brewpub Patrons; maintain a positive work environment; conduct regular staff meetings, and reward and recognize strong performance by staff
● Maintain a thorough understanding of all Brewpub products
● Ensure brewpub is kept clean and presentable including beer garden, walk-in
coolers and other spaces
● Continuously improve processes, service and efficiency in FOH
● Create and maintain menus and signage
● Hire and Dismiss bartending staff (when needed)
● Create together and maintain Taproom Bartending Training Manual that will be
used to train all new staff
● Conduct team building meetings where employees are given ongoing
service/beer training
● Encourage leadership and Blind Pig Brewing’s core values
Events Management and Execution
Duties and responsibilities specific to events include but are not limited to:
● Serve as main point of contact for potential customers or partners
● Generate ideas for new events to drive taproom business
● Facilitate all event-related internal communication between departments -
including staffing, setup, event supplies and day-of timeline
● Oversee upkeep and cleaning of event equipment including tents, table covers,
banners, decor - communicate and repair/replace as needed
● Develop standard for analyzing event success and utilize results to improve
event strategy
● Engage in community outreach to generate new relationships for reservations,
events or other promotions
Stock Control & Brewpub Organization/Maintenance
● Ensure that inventory tracking, as well as opening and closing procedures, are
being completed daily
● Schedule and maintain tap line cleaning
● Monitor inventory and order all necessary Brewpub supplies and beverages in a
timely manner
● Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the bar and storage areas
● Maintain/repair or arrange for maintenance and repair of equipment and other
services as needed
Safety Management
● Set and maintain standards for beer presentation
● Responsibly sell and serve alcohol; ensure all staff follow Basset training and all
local liquor laws
● Ensure and enforce company policies are being followed
● Manage maintain areas for health and physical safety
Physical Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform all essential functions.
● Ability to be on your feet and walk for long periods of time. Walking surfaces
may be wet and/or slippery.
● Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally maneuver
kegs up to 165 lbs safely.
● Ability to bend, climb ladders
● Ability to smell and taste beer and other products often to ensure quality
● Ability to stand for 8 or more hours
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an
employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
● Work is primarily performed in a retail/restaurant setting, including some time spent in cooler storage areas at low temperatures and warehouse
● Will spend a limited amount of time in a warehouse and production/manufacturing setting.
● Alcohol serving environment.
Compensation
● Annual compensation range $55-65k based on experience.
● Compensation negotiable and commensurate with experience.
● Paid vacation and sick time.
