What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Photographer position at Monarca Media?
Job Summary:
Monarca Media is looking for someone who is reliable, friendly, detail-obsessed, and confident enough to talk to a homeowner while holding a camera. No photography experience? That’s okay. We’ll train the right person with a great attitude and a willingness to learn.
Let’s also get this out of the way early: yes, we expect you to show up on time, act professional, and take a shower before heading to a shoot. We’re joking (kind of), but this is a client-facing role and how you show up matters — to us, and to our clients.
You’ll be working independently, moving fast, and representing our brand out in the field. So if you need a fixed routine, a desk, and constant supervision to thrive, this probably isn’t for you.
What You'll Actually Be Doing:
- Photographing homes and commercial properties — no editing required
- Uploading raw files to our server each day (it's as glamorous as it sounds)
- Driving all over the Wasatch Front, so you’ll need a reliable car and good playlists
- Communicating with clients and team members like a normal, respectful human
- Keeping your calendar accurate so we know where you are and when
- Representing Monarca Media with professionalism and good vibes
We’re Looking for Someone Who Is:
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Friendly and confident when interacting with clients (aka, not awkward)
- Presentable — polished, clean, and knows that yes, real pants are still a thing
- A great communicator who answers messages and isn’t afraid to ask questions
- Open to feedback and willing to grow
- Detail-oriented and someone who notices the wonky lamp in the background
- Independent — you’ll often be out shooting solo, so we need someone self-motivated
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus (but not required)
You’ll Need to Have:
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (you’ll be driving, did we mention that?)
- Must be 18 and able to pass a background check
- Be drug-free and able to pass a drug test (yes, we actually check)
- Comfortable with driving to multiple appointments daily
- Available between 10 AM–7 PM, Monday through Friday (with the occasional Saturday)
- Be okay with a flexible, sometimes unpredictable schedule
This Job is NOT for You If:
- You want a 9–5 desk job with the same routine every day
- You don’t like driving or hate being on the road
- You aren’t comfortable talking to people you’ve never met
- You struggle to manage your own time without being micromanaged
- You ignore texts and hate Google Calendar
- You can’t take constructive feedback without a meltdown
- You think “professional appearance” means slippers and a hoodie
To Apply:
Please include a short paragraph telling us why you’re interested in this position and what makes you a great fit for a client-facing photography role.
Bonus points if you use the word “cactus” somewhere in your response so we know you actually read this.
Applications without this will not be considered — we like people who can follow simple instructions.
