Position
Overview:
We are currently seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Scientist who will focus on conducting high-complexity urine drug screens and confirmations on LC/MS instruments, as well as infectious disease testing. Potential to move full time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years prior work experience in a laboratory certified under CLIA
- Valid CLS license
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft and Google suites
Responsibilities:
- Utilize technical knowledge of laboratory testing and terminology to ensure accuracy in test results
- Execute the analysis and processing of data, and release patient test results in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
- Conducts clinical molecular genetic testing for multiple workflows as well as high-complexity urine drug screens and confirmations on LC/MS instruments
- Adhere to and review the laboratory's quality control policies, emphasizing documentation of all quality control and quality assurance activities
- Evaluate test results for accuracy and assist in their interpretation for physicians
- Demonstrates knowledge in laboratory procedures
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in multitasking and time management
- Communicate effectively and demonstrate attention to detail in cross-referencing information and prioritizing tasks
- Ensure that test result reports contain pertinent information required for patient interpretation
- Maintain compliance with laboratory policies for personal protective equipment (PPE), hazardous waste disposal, and IT security
- Participate in performing test method validation and verification runs for accuracy and precision
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications
