Our client located in Elgin is looking for an CNC Set up Machinist (Mills or Lathe) for their 1st shift. This is for an excellent company, beautiful shop, state of the art machines, direct hire position. They are looking for :
Requirements
- 4 years of experience setting up / running CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
- Experience machining stainless steel and non-ferrous materials.
- Knowledge of machines with live tooling, tailstock & sub-spindle transfers highly desired.
- Multi-turret machine experience a plus.
- Feature Cam or Fusion 360 programming knowledge and experience is a plus
- CAD / CAM knowledge is helpful but not required
- Able to read micrometer, gauges and comparator. Also able to read blueprints.
- Good computer skills and math skills
- Good verbal & written communication skills
- Good organization skills; able to prioritize and plan multiple tasks simultaneously
- Self motivated; proactive in improving processes and anticipating needs / problems
- Team player; able to work well with a wide variety of people
- Quality and safety focused
- Able to read and write fluently in English
- Must be willing to work some overtime
