CNC Programmer Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programming and a deep understanding of geometric principles. As a CNC Programmer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring precision and efficiency in our manufacturing processes, contributing to the production of high-quality components.
Duties
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for various machining operations using CNC Lathes and programming at the Control.
- Interpret engineering drawings and schematics to create accurate programs that meet specifications.
- Utilize mathematical skills to calculate dimensions, tolerances, and machining processes.
- Set-up / Operate CNC machines, including Fanuc-controlled systems and Mazak Programming, to fabricate parts according to established programs.
- Perform quality checks using tools such as micrometers and bore gauges to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement lean manufacturing principles for process improvement.
- Troubleshoot programming issues and make necessary adjustments to enhance production efficiency.
Experience
- Proficiency in programming on Okuma's and or Mazaks, is desireable.
- Strong understanding of geometry and the ability to apply mathematical concepts in programming tasks.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques and their application in a production environment.
- Experience with CNC machine operation and set-ups is required.
- Knowledge of fabrication processes and the ability to read and interpret technical schematics.
