We are seeking a motivated and creative Government Affairs Specialist with 1-3 years of experience in government or government relations. Legislative or association experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will be passionate about storytelling, adept at media relations, and skilled in developing and executing strategic PR campaigns that enhance our brand’s visibility and credibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legislative Tracking: Oversee and maintain all legislative and political tracking systems, ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly reports are delivered to the correct individuals and all internal datasets are maintained properly.
  • Hearing Coverage & Analysis: Prepare analysis of pending legislation and regulations. Monitor and prepare reports on legislative hearings. Build issue sheets and other analytical documents as necessary.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Manage the day-to-day activities of Mondelez' Political Action Committee. Manage lobbying disclosure requirements and compliance.
  • Advocacy Meeting Attendance: As necessary, attend meetings with elected officials alongside Mondelez Colleagues.
  • Content Creation: Develop compelling presentations, executive memos, leave behinds, analysis and impact statements, and other GA-related content that aligns with our corporate government affairs and communication goals.
  • Campaign Management: Support in planning, execution, and evaluation of government affairs events that support legislative advocacy, corporate initiatives, and other external CGA efforts.
  • Communication Management: Assist in managing communication across multiple internal teams to ensure timely and accurate information is distributed to stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Monitor media coverage and legislative advocacy performance, providing regular reports and insights to inform future strategies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other internal teams to align CGA activities with overall business objectives and strategy.
  • Administrative Assistant: on occasion, serve as administrative assistant to the Director, Government Affairs, US CGA.
  • Others duties as necessary or assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in government or government affairs. Preferably within a legislature or association.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in relevant field OR equivalent experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and engaging content.
    • Familiarity with legislative monitoring tools.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Understanding of social media platforms and their role in government affairs.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a trade association or at a government relations firm.
  • Experience with rapid response situations.
  • Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods or Food industry.


The base salary range for this position is $73,900 to $101,650; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
