What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tech 2 position at Mondi?
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Tech 2 Operator is responsible assisting the Tech 3 Mailer Operator produce the mailer bag on a production line by taking paper and other materials and forming them into a mailer bag. The Tech 2 is also responsible for moving and inspecting paper bags for quality; stacking finished bags in boxes and/or skids within or near the work site while taking direction from the Tech 3 Operator, Shift Supervisor, and Production Manager .
Your Task:
- Study job order and requisitions required paper
- Unbans paper rolls and prepares rolls for machine
- Installs paper in machine
- Removes paper from machine
- Visually watches operation, observes flow of paper into machine
- Stops machine if paper not running properly
- Performing visual inspection of paper bags for quality, specifically checking for defects ensuring they are properly folded, glued, and printed according to work order specifications
- Helps perform all machine cleaning
- Performs any of the crew duties under the Tech 3 direction or alone as experience permits
- Maintaining a safe, clean work environment
- Follow all plant rules and safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Your Profile:
- High school diploma/GED
- Must be dependable and able to work a rotating Midnight, Afternoon, and Day shift (MAD)
- Standing and walking up to 100% of the time
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. By hand frequently
- Ability to use a tape measure and other hand tools
- Must be physically and mentally active and alert
- 0-2 years manufacturing experience; mechanical and industrial skills helpful
