POSITION SUMMARY: Monida Healthcare Staffing Solutions, Inc. is a service line of the Monida Healthcare Network – see https://www.monida.com/staffing-solutions.htm. The Staffing Director manages all operational aspects of this important line of business, including sales and marketing, recruitment and placement of temporary personnel, client relations and contracting , human resources management and regulatory compliance, and operational and financial management of Monida’s temporary staffing pool.
REPORTS TO: Monida’s CEO
WORKING CONDITIONS: Base salary plus bonus compensation. Salaried work schedule: typical 40-hour weeks but hours may vary. Routine travel required, mostly by automobile, occasionally overnight. 8am-5pm, M-F is normal but flexibility is required for work related travel, meetings, and appointments. Shared, on-call responsibilities, paid in addition to salary. Professional office atmosphere, non-smoking office. Potential for partial remote hours (worked out with CEO). The Director supervises and works as a team with one staffing coordinator, and provides administrative supervision of all interim employees. Business casual/professional dress code, quality workstation setup. Moderate noise level of office equipment and staff conversation. Frequent interruptions and multi-tasking situations.
EXTERNAL CONTACTS:[GD1] Directors of Nursing (DON’s), Assistant Directors of Nursing (ADON’s), HR Managers, staffing personnel, facilities personnel, healthcare administrative and clinical staff, and other affiliated business personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (partial list):
- Sources and recruits healthcare personnel for temporary placements with contracted clients through employment fairs, ad placements, and social media posts
- Grows pool of staff available for placement to assure adequate portfolio is available to meet client staffing demand
- Establishes monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for marketing. Works diligently as a team with the staffing coordinator to achieve marketing goals. Markets services to new facilities through direct contact, mail, email, website, social media and other technologies
- Grows the business. Generates and cultivates new sales leads and forms new relationships with potential clients. Closes deals
Is a sales professional. Establishes challenging sales goals and motivates self and department to achieve these goals
- Develops and maintains HR strategies such as compensation and bonus arrangements, scheduling systems, and travel arrangements that build a “preferred employer” relationship that attracts and retains personnel
- Communicates with facilities on assigned personnel who are new to that facility, arranges orientations, and documents communication in staffing software system
- Assures staff qualifications, skills checklists, training, certifications, and schedules are coordinated to meet clients’ requests – including faxing or emailing updated paperwork to facilities
- Participates in civic organizations, professional associations, and other programs intended to maintain professional relations with colleagues and potential clients
- Maintains a strong focus on financial profitability and achieves financial goals established with CEO and CFO
- Monitors and participates in A/R and collection activities; holds clients accountable to company payment policies
- Accomplishes human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting/hiring, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; carries out performance evaluations and recommends necessary actions, adhering to policies and procedures.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE: General expertise in interim staffing and business operations, office functions, confidentiality requirements, knowledge of computers and technology.
SKILLS: Must have excellent customer service abilities with effective verbal and written communication skills. Must have excellent managerial skills, including planning, organizing, directing, and controlling all aspects associated with running an interim staffing organization. Strong attention to detail, problem solving, organization, typing, computer functions and work-related programs: Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, staffing software system, various web-based applications, copiers, fax machines, printers, and other office equipment.
ABILITIES: Must desire to provide highest level of service to Monida’s clients. Must be a team player, able to work with other service line managers and employees. Must be capable of managing own workload independently with little-to-no supervision. Must feel comfortable communicating with staffing pool employees and contracted facility staff with the ability to always maintain high level of professionalism. Must maintain the highest degree of integrity, judgment and confidentiality. Must be capable of retaining a cheerful and professional demeanor throughout varying situations, always being polite and courteous. Must be able to manage projects in a multi-task situation with frequent interruptions. Ability to speak, listen, use the telephone and conduct most business through electronic methods. Must be able to travel. Must work well with other staff and maintain a professional, positive attitude in an office environment while refraining from gossip, and/or other negative or disrespectful, behavior.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: [GD2] This position varies in physical demands throughout the day. It may require prolonged sitting or standing, hand-to-eye coordination, hand use, reaching with arms, speaking, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and minimal lifting (up to 30 pounds). Visual acuity required to read, write, interpret and perform the position requirements. Driving is also essential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Degree preferred in business, finance, human resources, marketing, or nursing, or equivalent experience in a related healthcare field.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years staffing and recruitment experience desired with a healthcare background.
