Monitoring, Control and Compliance, (MCC) is a privately owned small business providing services to the solid waste industry. Founded by a former landfill gas technician in 2005 with two employees; and has since grown to approximately 65 employees utilizing a controlled growth strategy.
Our focus is the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of landfill gas systems that are installed to reduce the emissions of methane impacting our environment and provide a “Green” energy source for our client’s end-users.

- As an environmental engineer, you will be responsible for assisting project managers, project engineers, environmental professionals, and AutoCAD operators with designing, installing, and implementing landfill gas (LFG) and liquid control and monitoring systems.
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports and proposals, perform and complete material take offs, work on and help create system plan and detail drawings in AutoCAD, and research equipment and material specifications for project applications.
- Assist with managing project tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and interacting with clients.
- Assist with designing and implementing landfill gas and liquid collections systems.
- Create drawings and figures in AutoCAD.
- Create material take offs and research materials specifications.
- Maintain project and design electronic file systems.
- Perform field based activities associated with system design and installation.
- Attend site meetings and perform pre-design and pre-construction site investigative site visits.
- Work with system operators to understand existing system operations and issues.
- Oversee subcontractors and document construction activities.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data.
- Input data into reports.
- Conduct client meetings and provide project updates.
General Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering track).
- Experience operating, maintaining, designing, implementing, or installing landfill gas and liquid systems is a plus.
- Experience in regulatory compliance management is a plus.
- OSHA HAZWOPER Certificate or ability to obtain shortly after starting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather and climatic conditions.
- Driver’s license with clean driving record, drug free, and clean background.
- Ability to travel up to 25% to job sites (paid travel and expenses).
Master’s degree is a plus.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) is a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in landfill gas engineering, construction, monitoring, operations, or compliance.
- This role is based in both a field and office-based setting, depending on the phase of the project(s) being completed.
- Travel up to 25% of the time for site visits, construction monitoring, and client meetings paid.
