What are the responsibilities and job description for the Classroom Teacher Grades 3/4 position at Monkton Central School?
Monkton Central School (MAUSD) is seeking an enthusiastic, wonderful and dedicated 3/4 classroom teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will teach 3/4 literacy, science and social studies and math. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for creating a positive learning environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students while having a great time! The ideal candidate must love teamwork, positive culture and being a part of a community involved school.
Key Responsibilities:
• Strong in literacy instruction, planning and implementation.
• Experience in teaching menu based instruction with an emphasis on a literacy menu
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs and interests of students.
• Deliver high-quality instruction in accordance with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
• Assess and monitor student progress through various assessment methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, grades, and behavioral reports.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student progress and any concerns.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with educational best practices.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and school initiatives.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
• Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and activities as required.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move classroom materials as needed.
Work Environment:
Classroom setting with frequent interaction with students, staff, and parents.
Salary is commensurate with experience and per the Mount Abraham Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. The salary range is $50,663 - $95,803
