The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice, incorporating principles of evidence-based practice. They maintain a realization of their individual level of knowledge and experience and assume responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others on the patient care team through communication and utilization of available resources.
Key responsibilities include reporting identified safety issues, such as hazardous environments and medical errors. They supervise and direct the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other patient care providers.
The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care provision and individualizes the plan of care to address specific patient needs as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager.
