Position Summary:
Maintenance technician is assigned to support production operations area as needed. Preventive Maintenance (PM) and all necessary tasks to maintain the plant are part of this position’ duties and responsibilities. Daily overtime, weekend works and Holiday works are the expected schedule of this position while the Maintenance Management staff is keenly aware of the needs for work-life balance for its team members. Assigned areas of support are the sole discretion of the Maintenance Management staff.
Qualifications
- An Associate Degree in a skilled trade (electrical/automation/mechanical field of studies) with minimum 3-year of trade experiences. OR High School Diploma or GED with 7 or more years progressive, direct applicable industrial experience in a skilled trade.
- Ability to use meters and test equipment.
- Basic ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, manual or oral instruction on a variety of food equipment employed by Martinsville Plant
- Operate a variety of machinery, equipment and tools including saws, drills, sanders, and various hand tools.
- Ability to work flexible hours and/or weekend work & occasional overtime. This is to include Holiday except Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays.
- A key advocate and enforcer of safety, GMP’s, and other regulatory requirements
Prefer Qualifications
- Assist and/or provide technical assistance in diagnosing and solving problems related to electrical work and machinery.
- Assist and/or provide technical assistance in diagnosing and solving problems related to electrical work and machinery.
- Assists with the development of production and automation processes.
- Be a hands-on individual with strong electrical and mechanical skills
- Be a strong problem solver, organized team player, and will take initiative to solve challenges
- Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drive programming and implementation
- Able to use electrical drawings and diagrams to assist with the installation of various types of electrical equipment and controls.
- Perform preventative maintenance on systems and equipment-updating old/obsolete equipment.
- Understanding of control low/high voltage, amperage, and the ability to use a DMM is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Promote adherence to safety practices and all GMP, Food Safety regulations.
- Working independently with minimum direct supervision.
- Carry out diverse skilled activities involving the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Engage in thorough troubleshooting of equipment.
- Monitor and keep his/her supervisor informed on the effectiveness of applicable solution(s) to issue with equipment and/or system.
- Support Supervisors in maintaining the CMMS system
- Engage and communicate effectively with production team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Attend SMS meeting as Maintenance department’s representative as needed.
