Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Manager plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance program designed to ensure
quality production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties
personally, or through subordinate supervisors. This position is responsible for developing, implementing and
maintaining Quality Assurance Program and HACCP system, analyzing customer contact trends, production data,
and developing strategies and programs for improved product safety quality and productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate
  • policies and goals.
  • Interprets quality assurance philosophy to key personnel in the organization.
  • Implements, maintains and ensures the integrity of the plant food safety and quality
  • program.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated
  • requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Organizes and conducts internal quality audits.
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the
  • current process and process changes.
  • Monitors the adequacy of food safety and quality plans with actions as needed.
  • Assists in verifying and investigating non-conformances.
  • Identifies and evaluates quality problems and recommend solutions.
  • Evaluates, verifies and reports the implementation of corrective and preventive action.
  • Ensures that needed recourses are provided and training is completed for personnel
  • performing quality related activities.
  • This position has a legal responsibility to ensure that Monogram Pet Treats comply with all
  • federal and state regulations associated with food safety and product consistency during
  • the absence of the Director of Operation.
  • Reviews all data obtained during all quality assurance activities to ensure consistency
  • with company policies and procedures.
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance
  • activities.
  • Keeps management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during
  • quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to the management team.
  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and
  • standards.
  • Plays an active role on quality management teams within the organization.
  • Designs and implements quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
  • Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages 5-12 Team Members in the Quality Assurance Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Team Members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Team Members; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related
  • experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous
  • USDA experience is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • HACCP Certified
  • Trained BRC Advisor

    • The Team Member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 
    • Specific job duties include packing samples, evaluations, testing of products, pre-op inspection and floor prep.
