Job description
The Master Scheduler is responsible for proactively maintaining and continuously improving the finite production schedule. This role is expected to strike a balance between material availability, business risk, customer fulfilment, and operational optimization. The Master Scheduler is responsible for complete and accurate communication to all levels of the Division.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

Convert the Supply Plan to an attainable finite schedule to meet customer service goals, optimize inventory investments and meet production requirements.

Finite schedule to balance sequencing and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates required by net requirements forecast or customer orders.

Maximize the utilization of manufacturing assets while providing the product mix dictated by Supply Planning and customers’ orders while considering materials, employee, and equipment availability.

Works closely with Supply Planning and Operations to evaluate capacity and utilization.

Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions with communication of changes to the appropriate stakeholders.

Communicate production issues and coordinate resolution.

Partner with Operations, Supply Planning, Procurement, Distribution, and Customer Service to coordinate production and shipping activities and to resolve complaints or eliminate delays.

Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision while escalating more complex issues appropriately.

Leverage ERP system and other Excel-based planning tools to calculate figures such as required amounts of labor, materials, and manufacturing costs.

Responsible for achieving key performance indicators such as fill rates, schedule adherence and attainment, and pre-defined inventory targets.

Monitor production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures, using this information for continuous improvement activities such as maintenance of routings and BOM’s, increasing accuracy of production schedule and efficiency reporting.

Monitor excess and obsolete WIP, raw material and component inventory.

Perform planning and related data analysis needed for cross-functional projects.

Partner effectively with external departments including Supply Planning, Procurement, Customer Support, R&D, Quality, Finance, Marketing, and Manufacturing to resolve issues impacting areas of responsibility.

Generate and distribute daily or weekly production reports to both internal and external customers.
The ideal candidate will have the following:

B.S. degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field.

4 years of professional scheduling experience required (Food Purchasing experience preferred).

Exhibit leadership skills and desire to coach and mentor others.

Strong interpersonal abilities, communication skills, analytical capabilities, and customer service experience desired.

Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a keen sense of urgency required.

Comfortable with developing and presenting out topics to various groups including leadership.

Motivated, self-starter, able to work independently and make fact-based decisions/recommendations.

Able to see the bigger picture and work collaboratively with other business partners to accomplish the common goal.

Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel preferred, Power BI desirable) and ERP systems (MS D365 preferred).

Additional experience/training in process improvement (Six Sigma or other technique), critical problem solving, and project management desired.

Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.

Must be 18 years or older.
