Position Summary :

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and completing them daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Compares identifying information and counts, and weights against all incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, orders, or other records.
Schedules receiving appointments.
Examines incoming Receiving paperwork for required information, ( code dates, mfg dates, etc.).
Print out shipping picklists using Excel sheets and verify inventory in the system first for complete FEFO accuracy.
Routes paperwork to department personnel.
Double-check all inbound and outbound paperwork for accuracy before keying information into the system. This includes making sure all picklists, and trailer map sheets, are turned in with every load.
Print out all BOLs for outbound shipment and apply the seal number and signature with every load.
Maintains all paperwork in a neat organized manner to include all load paperwork together to be scanned into D365 when processing has been completed.
Maintains both shipping and receiving compliance logs daily for accuracy.
Must cross-train in all areas of the office to keep it as efficient and responsive to our customer's needs as possible.
Promotes a safe work environment through training and implementation.
Suggest changes in the working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the department or team.
Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety, and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed.
Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free workplace.
Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
Other duties as assigned by management.

The Ideal Candidate will have the Following Qualifications

Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :

Computer : Should understand the general workings of a PC and be able to utilize Word and Excel programs.

Integrity : Adherence to moral and ethical principles; sound moral character; honesty

Analytical : Ability to visualize, articulate, solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts, and make decisions that make sense.

Strong organizational skills

Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and corporate environments...

Ability to compute by adding, subtracting, and averaging numbers.

Ability to analyze, interpret, correlate, and present data.

Ability to work independently and as a team

Assist with yearend cycle counts

Ability to work under deadlines

Adaptability : The ability to understand, accept, and embrace change is necessary for the development of the department.
