What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adult Education Instructor - Welding (Per Diem, Substitute) position at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES?
- Develop, plan and implement curriculum and assessments aligned to welding industry and NYS Learning Standards. This may include co-planning and/or co-teaching with other welding or machining teachers.
- Collaborate with academic teachers to integrate related literacy, math and science instruction.
- Create and implement an effective classroom management plan that supports the department code of conduct.
- Establish a safe learning environment with active supervision and proper use of all tools and equipment.
- Teach High School students the fundamentals of Welding Technologies and career readiness through engaging activities and assignments aligned to areas of welding and fabrication.
- Collaborate with Work Based Learning (WBL) Coordinators to build/strengthen industry partnerships and find work-based learning opportunities for students.
- Communicate with students, CTE colleagues, parents, component districts and when necessary, Special Education colleagues.
- Complete all record keeping functions related to the classroom, including but not limited to, grades, attendance, worked based learning hours, etc.
- Attend professional development, faculty meetings and establish and facilitate advisory committee meetings. Attend and assist with events such as open house and information night.
- Perform additional professionally related duties at the request of CTE administration.
