What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapeutic Dietitian position at Monroe Community Hospital?
JOB SUMMARY: This is a professional position responsible for planning and overseeing dietary aspects of the food delivery system in a health care facility. Duties include working closely with medical personnel in assessing nutritional needs of residents, planning for the provision of food and drink appropriate for the patients’ physical and medical needs, and providing nutrition education and counseling to adequately meet regular or therapeutic needs. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the facility administrator with leeway allowed for exercise of independent professional judgement. General supervision may be exercised over the work of the Dietetic Technicians and over the food service preparation staff. Does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a valid certification by the New York State Education Department as a Certified Dietitian or Dietitian-Nutritionist, OR a valid certification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration** **copy of certification must be submitted with application.
