Monroe County Correctional Facility is seeking a skilled Warden to lead and oversee the operations of our correctional facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and effective administration of the facility. The Warden will be responsible for directing correctional staff, maintaining compliance with applicable laws and standards, and implementing policies that support the mission of rehabilitation and public safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing all aspects of the correctional facility, including security, programs, and administration.
- Supervising, training, and evaluating staff to ensure effective operations.
- Overseeing inmate programs that promote rehabilitation, reduce recidivism, and improve overall well-being.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards.
- Developing and managing the facility's budget and resources effectively.
- Serving as the primary liaison with local government officials, community stakeholders, and external agencies.
Minimum qualifications for the position are as follows:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in corrections, including supervisory or management roles; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge and skills for this position.
