Leisure Services Aide, Part-Time

Description of Duties

This is an entry level recreational position in Monroe Community Hospital's Resident Program Department involving assisting with the implementation of recreation programs. Employees receive general supervision and direction from a senior level employee. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:

(A) Six (6) months full-time or its part-time equivalent experience providing activities or recreation services in EITHER: a health care facility, or a nursing home, or a residential facility serving people with physical disabilities, or any setting serving people with special medical needs; OR

(B) Satisfactory completion of fifteen (15) semester credit hours in Recreation, Gerontology, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, or closely related field at a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university;

(C) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
