Description of Duties
This is an information services position responsible for administering or assisting with designing and implementing computer networks to ensure a reliable network infrastructure in order to provide maximum performance. Duties involve designing and implementing a high-performing network integrating Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), the Internet, and intranet components to meet user and employer needs while providing network infrastructure management, network monitoring management, virtual machine management and back-up and documentation. Duties also involve providing emergency support. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of an Infrastructure Services Manager or other higher level staff member. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, PLUS:

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, PLUS:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in the design, installation, or maintenance and repair of a computer network; OR,
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree plus four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A) above; OR,
- Six (6) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A) above; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
