Description of Duties
This is a professional position with the Department of Public Health responsible for assisting in the organization and implementation of educational efforts regarding public health needs. Employees of this class assist in the survey of public health education needs, and organize workshops, forums, and discussion groups to meet those needs. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of the Senior Public Health Educator or a higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
EITHER:
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in health education, health science, public health, health promotion, community health, or health communications; OR,
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in education, nursing, epidemiology, wellness and fitness, or nutrition, plus one (1) year paid full time or its part time equivalent experience in health education; OR,
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, human services, social work or psychology plus two (2) years paid full time or its part time equivalent experience in health education; OR,
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in public health or health education; OR,
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), (C) and (D) above.
Salary : $47,964 - $64,487
