Description of Duties
This is a professional position located at the Monroe County Department of Human Services – Children’s Detention Center, a 24/7 facility, and is responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing vocational training programs and meeting the educational needs of the adolescent children of youth aged twelve (12) years through, and including, eighteen (18) years under the direction of the Recreation and Vocational Coordinator. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of the Recreation and Vocational Coordinator or other higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
PROPOSED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
- Graduation with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in an educational field, plus one (1) year paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience teaching vocational skills;
- Possession of a vocational certification**, plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience teaching vocational skills; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
**Applicants qualifying under section (B) must submit a copy of their certificate at time of application.
Salary : $50,897 - $68,505
