Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in a nursing home environment. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the dietary department by assisting with food preparation, ensuring food safety, dishwashing, miscellaneous duties and providing excellent customer service to our residents.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
- Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
- Sanitate kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Collaborate with cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to resident inquiries regarding meal options and dietary needs.
- Support the dietary department in inventory management, including stocking supplies and monitoring expiration dates.
- Follow all established protocols for handling food allergens and special dietary requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or food service setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- A genuine interest in dietetics or nutrition is a plus.
- Must be able to follow instructions accurately and maintain attention to detail during food preparation activities.
