The Medical Assistant (MA) at Monroe Medical Clinic plays a vital role in providing both clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care. This position involves preparing examination rooms, assisting healthcare providers with patient examinations and treatments, recording vital signs, administering injections, and performing basic laboratory tests. Additionally, the MA will assist with minor surgical procedures, provide patient education, and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations. Administrative duties include scheduling appointments, checking patients in and out, verifying insurance, updating electronic medical records (EMR), handling phone inquiries, processing referrals, and obtaining prior authorizations.
Candidates should have experience in a medical office or clinical setting, with certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred. Strong communication, multitasking abilities, and proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems are essential. The work environment requires standing for long periods and assisting with patient movement when needed, with exposure to medical conditions and clinical elements. Regular working hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with an adjusted schedule of 8:15 AM to 5:00 PM next week, and every other Saturday as required.
