TERM OF EMPLOYMENT : 10-Month Position, Part-Time
STARTING DATE : As Soon As Possible
SALARY RANGE : $32.00 -$52.27 per hour
Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
DUTIES :
Complete assessments requested by districts.
Using the department's Functional Vision Assessment or the Orientation & Mobility Assessment templates, create a report compiling the results of the assessment.
Attend any required district meetings related to the assessment.
Develop appropriate individualized IEP goals and objectives.
Prepare CSE packets as required.
Ensure IEP Compliance.
Establish and maintain professional working relationships.
Support districts / teachers with their inquiries.
Perform related duties as agreed upon with the Department Administrators.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Master's Degree and NYS Certification as a Teacher of the Blind / Visually Impaired
Certified / Qualified in Orientation and Mobility preferred.
Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired / Mobility Instructor preferred.
Demonstrated ability to instruct in Braille inclusive of Nemeth Code preferred.
Experience and / or Knowledge of Assistive Technology preferred.
Open Minded and Flexible.
Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
Valid NY State Driver's License.
Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
