LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe One BOCES – 41 O’Connor Road, Fairport NY 14450; Bird-Morgan School04/15/2025
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month Position, Full Time
STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible
SALARY RANGE: $80,000 - $95,000 Annually
DEFINITION:
Under the supervision of, and in cooperation with the Principal, the Assistant Principal is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the school program. The Assistant Principal supervises all students, program, and personnel, along with the Principal.
MAJOR POLICY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Principal is responsible for following those policies established by the Board of Education as well as the requirements of the State of New York and the federal government.
DUTIES:
1. Responsible for the coordination of all aspects of student programming daily, in conjunction with the Principal.
2. Assist the Principal in the selection, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of all staff.
3. Facilitate effective communication with staff, students, parents, and community and serve as a liaison to participating school districts.
4. Assist in the planning, implementing, and monitoring the use of the school facility and its health and safety.
5. Assist with supervising and monitoring development, implementation, and evaluation of all instructional programs in the school.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. NYS Certification as School Administration & Supervision (SAS)/School Building Leader (SBL).
2. At least five (5) years of experience in working with students with developmental disabilities.
3. At least 2 years prior experience as a school administrator, preferred.
4. Minimum of five years of distinguished teaching or school related experience.
5. Knowledge of Federal and NYS laws and regulations in the areas of General Education and Special Education.
6. Knowledge and experience regarding BOCES programs, services, and operations.
7. Knowledge and experience regarding Monroe One component districts’ programs, services, and operations.
8. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
Salary : $80,000 - $95,000
