What are the responsibilities and job description for the Contracted Elementary School Climate Liaison position at Monroe Public Schools?
- Coordination of student climate supports for students struggling with school attendance.
- Engagement of families in the educational process.
- Improvement of student attendance.
- Promotion of students being healthy, present, and positive members of a safe learning environment.
- Increase student attendance.
- Promote positive school climate, student health and wellness, and parent engagement through coordinating district initiatives.
- Assist building staff in developing additional climate supports and incentives for students struggling with school attendance.
- Associates degree or equivalent course work preferred.
- 3-5 years of work experience with children is preferred.
- Examples include: conducting mediations, developing behavior interventions, supporting teachers in implementing behavior interventions, analyzing data, resolving complex situations in a school setting.
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a diverse set of stakeholders towards a common goal.
- Work in collaboration with the administration and staff to coordinate climate–related events.
- Work in collaboration with the administration and staff to coordinate family engagement opportunities
- Work in collaboration with the administration and staff to maintain systems to monitor and track student attendance.
- Assist building staff in developing Attendance Improvement Plans, including additional climate supports and incentives for students struggling with school attendance.
- Develop and implement initiatives that foster a positive school climate for students, staff and family.
- Provide leadership to the school community in the prevention, intervention, and response to reports of bullying, discrimination, and otherwise mean-spirited behavior in the school.
- Monitor progress on the implementation of Attendance Improvement Plans.
- Research new programs and developments regarding school climate.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records.
- All other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Services.

Contracted Elementary School Climate Liaison
Terms of Employment: 3rd Party Contract; 8 hours per day for 190 days per school year
Contract Commitment/Compensation: $17.50-$19.50 per hour (salary depends on experience and education).
