- Plan, organize, and lead all aspects of the junior varsity volleyball program, including practices, conditioning, and competitions.
- Teach fundamental skills, game strategies, and team concepts that promote individual and team development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth.
- Supervise and mentor student-athletes, ensuring their safety and adherence to team, school, and MHSAA policies.
- Work collaboratively with the Varsity Head Coach to align the JV program with the overall vision and philosophy of Monroe High School Volleyball.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and team updates.
- Ensure compliance with all MHSAA rules and regulations, including eligibility, training requirements, and safety protocols.
- Support academic success by monitoring student-athlete progress and encouraging a strong balance between athletics and academics.
- Maintain and inventory equipment and uniforms, ensuring proper care and storage.
- Attend all scheduled games, tournaments, and team events, including off-season workouts as permitted by MHSAA.
- Prior volleyball coaching experience, preferably at the high school or club level.
- Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
- Ability to motivate and develop athletes while maintaining discipline and team unity.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of and adherence to MHSAA coaching requirements, including obtaining CPR/First Aid certification.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all Monroe Public Schools employment requirements.
- Experience coaching at the high school level or higher.
- Previous playing experience in volleyball at the high school, collegiate, or club level.
- Valid Michigan teaching certification or relevant educational background (preferred but not required).

Position Summary:
