Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Contents Restoration Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for restoring personal and business contents that have been affected by fire, water, smoke, or other damage. This role involves moving, cleaning, repairing, and restoring a wide range of items, ensuring that our clients’ belongings are returned to their pre-loss condition.
Pay: $16.50 - $19 hourly, based on experience

Key Responsibilities
Content Handling and Inventory:
- Carefully pack, transport, and unpack contents from the affected site to the restoration facility.
- Create detailed inventories of items, noting condition and any damages.
Content Cleaning and Restoration:
- Clean and restore a variety of contents, including furniture, electronics, documents, textiles, and other personal or business items using specialized techniques and equipment.
- Perform deodorization and disinfection processes to remove smoke, soot, mold, and other contaminants.
- Assess items for reparability and conduct minor repairs as needed.
Customer Service:
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain the restoration process, answer questions, and provide updates on the status of their belongings.
- Handle customer belongings with care and respect.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including photographs and detailed notes on the condition of items before and after restoration.
- Complete necessary forms and reports for insurance purposes and company records.
Health and Safety:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to respond to emergency situations.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- This position may require working in challenging conditions, such as properties damaged by fire, water, or mold. Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
· Enjoys serving others and has experience/interest in content cleaning, demolition, or packing/moving services; a team player
· Experience in the restoration or construction industry (not required but preferred)
· Maintains an optimistic, encouraging, can-do attitude
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proven customer service experience with a strong work ethic
· Punctual; reports to work on time in a clean, complete uniform
· Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
· Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record; can pass a background check
· Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods; able to lift 50 lbs. *Also, willing to travel to periodically travel to our South Bend office (in a company vehicle) to assist with company-wide cleaning projects.
