Certified Weld Inspector
Certified Weld Inspector will aid in the development of a welding program at MTE that will improve the overall competence of our welding workforce and reinforce the aspects of quality that our industry relies on. Contribute to forward planning of employees and equipment development to meet long-term business goals.
Essential Duties
- Supports the Engineering Department by participating in design development projects representing quality assurance and the customer.
- Implement standardized WPS for all welding processes at Monroe and our other locations to bring consistent processes to the corporation.
- Implement and document procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspections of welded product.
- Serves as a supporting quality control resource for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
- Educate and train employees on product quality standards and their responsibilities.
- Implement and maintain a certification process for all hand welders on campus, monitor yearly certifications and develop training programs to improve performance.
Qualifications
- Active/Current status of certification with AWS
- Minimum five years of knowledge of fabrication within the steel industry.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications
- Three years of quality system coordination or supervision in a manufacturing environment required
- Supervisory skills preferred
