Division: Monroe Truck Equipment -Louisville, KY
Position: Material Handler
Status: Fulltime
Shift:1st shift - Mon- Thur. 5am-3:30pm (some OT on Fridays)
THIS IS AN OUTSIDE POSITION. Forklift cab is enclosed with heat and air conditioning.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
- Opens containers to verify count and specifications.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
- Loads materials onto pallets and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
- Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Qualification and Skills:
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to operate an industrial lift.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs unassisted.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
