Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care for individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services as appropriate.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring proper monitoring and follow-up.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulations.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in psychiatric care.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health.
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of acute pain management, dementia care, urgent care, critical care, and gastroenterology.
- Proficiency in basic life support techniques and laboratory procedures, including phlebotomy.
- Experience administering injections and performing necessary medical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of anatomy knowledge related to mental health.
