Special Education Teacher/Case Manager
***We are seeking an individual who will also assume the role of Building Special Education Coordinator - (this is a stipend position)
Mont Vernon Village School is seeking a Special Education Teacher/Case Manager to work with students in grades K-6. Training and/or experience in collecting and analyzing data for instructional planning, ability to utilize data to implement research-based instruction and programs, and a capacity to support students in all academic areas and behavioral needs are required. Candidates must have flexibility for working in all tiered levels of instruction, ability to collaborate with multiple departments, as well as a strong working knowledge in special education law, procedures and IEP writing, grade level standards, and accommodating and modifying.
In addition to the Special Education Teacher/Case Manager vacancy, we are seeking an individual who will assume the position of Building Special Education Coordinator. The coordinator position receives a stipend for these additional responsibilities
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide in-class and small-group instruction to students with various learning needs.
- Provide inclusion services within the regular education setting with a focus on co-teaching.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers in implementing grade-level standards and content with accommodation and modification for
various learning needs.
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of IEPs for students eligible for special education services.
- Provide staff with resources, tools, and in-class recommendations related to students’ needs.
- Provide oversight of and consultation with school staff regarding programming and individualized learning plan implementation.
- Provide consultative services to parents, teachers, and other educational personnel.
- Be responsible for coordination of home and school communication regarding educational programming when appropriate.
- Ensure accurate data collection and analysis.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team in the development of student programming
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- NH Certification as a Special Education Teacher (1900)
- Training in the area of Learning Disabilities and Special Education Law
- Experience with the New Hampshire Special Education Information System (NHSEIS)
- Strong knowledge of best practices for students with various types of disabilities
Preferred
- Knowledge of and experience in standards-based grading
- Skilled in the area of early literacy instruction
- Experience working in a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support model
- Experience in an Elementary School
