What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant to the Principal position at Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School?
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
●Supports the Principal and building at large, including management of the school office, administrative operations, and school-wide communications for the Principal.
●Compiles information to properly prepare and maintain numerous schedules, calendars, records, and reports related to activities, procedures, and policies. (attendance, purchase orders, annual publications, etc.) as assigned by the Principal.
●Maintains confidentiality of all aspects of school operations including sensitive and personal information.
●Performs a wide variety of clerical duties including proofreading, filing, keeping records, and processing and distributing correspondence.
●Serves as a resource of information regarding a variety of school procedures and events and disseminates accurate and timely information to students, parents, staff, and visitors.
●Communicates and serves as a liaison between personnel, families, and various outside agencies to exchange information, request and provide materials, and coordinate activities.
●Receives and greets visitors and provides information to parents and the public.
●Screens daily correspondence, email, and telephone calls for Principal and office administrators.
●Prepares postings, appointment letters, and contracts for advisors, department liaisons, and coaches. Distributes and collects all contracts/paperwork/CORI forms from all parties in collaboration with the Business Office.
●Answers questions to help resolve situations involving students, parents, the public, and staff through a general knowledge of school policies, district rules, and regulations.
●Tracks and completes purchase orders for office supplies and materials as needed by the Principal and main office staff and ensures appropriate levels of supplies are maintained.
●Operates a variety of office equipment including a copier, fax machine, US Mail machine, folding/envelope insert machine, two-way radio, computer, and assigned software.
●Under the direction of the Principal, assists with the preparation, organization, and dissemination of information regarding the school’s annual Senior Awards Night and Graduation Ceremony.
●Any other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position may require long periods of standing and sitting. The individual may be exposed to ultraviolet lights as are found in computer monitors and copying equipment. The individual may be exposed to various hazards in the building.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Full Year Position, thirty-seven and one-half hours per week (7:30 AM-3:30 PM).

Salary as per the Administrative Support Personnel Salary Schedule.
EVALUATION:
Annually by the Principal.
